Brothers Thomas and John Knoll developed the program Photoshop in 1987, sold it to Adobe in 1998, and released the first version a year later. Now, the product is used for personal, business, and even educational use. So, it isn't surprising that many people today use the word "photoshop" in verb form.
Adobe, however, has flagged this as incorrect on the official company site? This is similar to Google's response to the same issue. See more details below.
Always capitalize and use trademarks in their correct form.
Correct: The image was enhanced with Adobe® Photoshop® Elements software.
Incorrect: The image was photoshopped.
Incorrect: The image was Photoshopped.
Incorrect: The image was Adobe® Photoshopped.
And so, for technicality's sake, the following celebrity photos have been enhanced with Adobe® Photoshop® Elements software.
As much as we admire skilled Photoshop users, we prefer people, including celebrities, just as they are!
