After moving to Ankara, Turkey, one American family decided to spend their free time volunteering at a shelter. Unfortunately, Turkish shelters don't have a huge amount of resources: That meant over 4,000 dogs, not enough food, and plenty of hardship for the animals.
The family decided to bring home a particularly struggling litter of puppies, hoping to let them die in peace away from the shelter. All of the litter eventually passed — all except the smallest dog, Faith.
Her story is heartbreaking, but luckily, there's a happy ending. See how Faith beat unthinkable odds in the pictures and video below.
Faith and her siblings were starving at the shelter, and Faith also had distemper. Distemper is highly contagious, and most young puppies succumb to the disease.
The family decided to take Faith home so she could pass in peace. However, Faith had something else in mind.
With the love of a good family, Faith was able to survive.
She couldn't walk and had a huge list of issues, but every day, she improved.
According to the family, Faith's recovery was nothing short of a miracle.
It's hard to believe, but this is Faith today.
