Taylar Cordova is a waitress at P.F. Chang's China Bistro who relies on her customers’ tips to complement her hourly wage. The 22-year-old recently took to Facebook to point out what refusing to leave gratuity means in her life. Cordova explains necessities like buying food and putting clothes on her daughter’s back are things that they go without when people do not tip.
Her post points out one customer who had a bill of $187 and paid without leaving a tip. It is customary to leave 15% to 20% gratuity. For Cordova this would have meant $27 to $37 extra in her pocket. Read her powerful message which is going viral.
